10 Steps to Healthy Hair
Regardless of your ethnic or curl type, healthy hair rules stay the same.
1. Gently brush your hair before you wash it to remove tangles.
2. Only wash your hair when it’s a must & be gentle!
3. Massage your scalp to boost circulation; this will improve the health of your hair. Start at your forehead and work back to the nape of your neck.
4. Apply conditioner mostly to the hair ends to avoid it feeling greasy soon after washing.
5. Boost your hair shine and detangle by using vinegar (apple cider is my favorite) as a rinse after shampooing. Use one tablespoon to 600ml of luke warm water. Comb it through and rinse with warm water.
6. Avoid using hot water on your hair; it causes the cuticles to swell and makes hair seem dull. Cool water closes the cubicles and makes hair appear glossy.
7. Never towel dry your hair; squeeze the water out and blot your hair with a paper towel.
8. Avoid brushing wet hair; as it swollen and susceptible to damage. Instead comb it through using a wide-tool comb until it’s tangle-free.
9. As often as you can, let your hair dry naturally!
10. When your hair is dry, spray a mist of hairspray onto a comb and run it through your hair. This will tame flyaway ends, give your hair a polished look, and make your style last longer.
