Build A Firm Foundation| Your Undergarments
If fit is an issue when getting dressed, the problem could rest in the foundation. Your undergarments or lack thereof, could be a determinant to ill-fitting clothes. The right undergarment can smooth, lift, mold, outline and offer support. Here are a few fit and styling tips to keep in mind.
PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR UNDERWEAR
Sure, sexy lingerie is fun, but practical undergarments are worth a little investment. Perfectly smooth underpants will make all of your clothes look better, and a great fitting bra will do more for your figure than anything you might wear over it. When shopping for both bras and panties, be conservative: If you find an item you think is right, buy only one (not several). After some wear and washings, if you’re still happy with the fit–and if the elastic has held up well, go back and stock up.
BUY SILKY BRAS
For everyday use, limit yourself to smooth, slippery bras, because they work best under all tops. Some tops don’t fall well over cotton bras–there’s too much friction. Save pretty, impractical bras, like lace (the texture can show through) and velvet ( a static nightmare) for after-hours.
ELIMINATE PANTY LINES

Good quality, seemless, low-cut briefs that fit right under your bottom will give you a smooth line under any clothes. Thongs have problems: They often peek out of your pants; and actually give you panty lines in some clothes like thin silky dresses. Whatever style you choose, be sure that your underpants stay under your waistline and always have a cotton crotch.
Personally purchasing underwear is sometimes that last thing I remember to think about doing. It’s not particularly fun for me. And when I do, I’ve been guilty of buying several at a time. I don’t want to think about it. With so many options out there, it can be confusing to find the right fit and style, but I’m totally getting better at this. I do feel more pulled together when I’ve made the effort, and have thought more consciously about my underpants
. It’s also amazing the number of women that wear the wrong bra size and underwear size.
